According to an Oct. 11 article on Fox News.com, the cast and fans of "Glee" were moved to tears by the show's Thursday night tribute to Cory Monteith who played Finn Hudson. Monteith, 31, died of an accidental drug overdose in July. The tribute, however, left viewers still wondering what happened to Finn Hudson.
There was suspense and speculation about how the "Glee" storyline would handle the well-loved character's death. It appears that the producers of "Glee" do not intend to specify exactly what happened to Finn Hudson. How Finn died may never be disclosed.
Many have mentioned that the show, usually very avant-garde in their subject matter, has missed an opportunity to use its platform to make an important statement about the dangers of drug abuse. Although the cast filmed a public service announcement about the dangers of addiction, it is thought that working the tragedy into the storyline would have been much more powerful. The producers' decision could have reflected a desire to spare the family of Cory Monteith any additional pain.
