Glassjaw looks to shatter Glass House, El Ray in February

With their first headlining tour in four years, Daryl Palumbo and his merry band of misfits are looking to recapture the glory of days gone by. The El Ray (Feb. 25) and Glass House (Feb. 26) will let in the ravenous crowds to get their piece of the no-longer-broken Glassjaw. With fresh material finally surfacing, expect the classic Everything You Needed To Know About Silence to be picked apart, leaving room for some of the new stuff. Before their lengthy hiatus, Glassjaw was a staple amongst the hardcore and metal crowds and took their reign at the top by screaming louder than anyone while rocking out harder than anyone. While some have criticized the band’s lack of structure, nobody can doubt the will and passion poured into every chord and rake of the strings.

Many fans have purchased Glassjaw tickets in years past, only to have their hopes dashed after a sudden cancellation. It comes with the fan territory and most people understand lead singer Palumbo’s constant struggle with Crohn’s disease. Much like Daniel Johns (Silverchair), Palumbo uses his personal pain and anguish and translates it into something everyone can somehow, weirdly enough, enjoy. Art is pain, and that pain has helped bring together millions of fans that ache for more Glassjaw. Their new EP put together a few leaked singles throughout 2010 but a new album is what the masses crave.
