Gladiator captain Joey Haddad chosen ECHL Player of the Week

The ECHL league office announced on Tuesday that Gwinnett Gladiators captain Joey Haddad was named the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Feb. 24-March 2. Haddad totaled eight points (4G-4A) as the Gladiators went 3-1-0 last week.

The 25-year-old scored a shorthanded goal in a 4-1 win against Evansville on Tuesday, tallied three points (1g-2a) in a 4-2 victory over Florida on Friday, had a goal and an assist in a 5-4 win against the Everblades on Saturday and ended the week with a goal in a 5-3 loss against Florida on Sunday.

Haddad leads the Gladiators this season with 31 points (13g-18a) in 50 games and is currently riding a five-game goal streak. The next goal he scores will be his 50th with Gwinnett.

Gwinnett’s next home game is Friday March 14th at 7:05 p.m. against the South Carolina Stingrays.

The Gladiators are members of the ECHL, the nation’s premier "AA" hockey league and are affiliated with the Phoenix Coyotes of the NHL. All home games are played at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
