A Glacier Park murder has the nation appalled this week, as a wife is accused of murder after shoving her husband off an icy cliff while the two were vacationing together. According to TimesFreePress.com this Tuesday, Sept. 10, a newlywed woman has been formally charged with killing her husband while in Glacier National Park during a heated argument — only a single week after the two got married together.
The Glacier Park murder has left police officials believing that after 22-year-old Jordan Linn Graham began having second thoughts on her marriage to husband Cody Lee Johnson, 25, she planned to murder him by shoving him off a cliff while in the Montana national park. Although investigation into the shocking case still continues, it is known that the newlywed husband and wife were arguing when he “fell” from the cliff.
Graham said to a Federal Bureau of Investigation agent that she was fighting with Johnson this July 7 while they were walking on an icy trail in the park. According to her statement, she was trying to walk away from him. However, her husband grabbed her arm, refusing to let her go. When she tried to push him away, she "she pushed Johnson with both hands in the back due to her anger, and as a result, he fell face first off the cliff to his death.”
Johnson was officially reported missing the next day, July 8, after not coming into work. It was at this time that Graham reported she had found his body at the bottom off the cliff below. She is facing a charge of second-degree murder, and is currently in police custody.
Graham’s law attorney and public defender, Andrew Nelson, has not commented on the Glacier Park murder case or the allegations placed against his client.
Johnson’s body was recovered on July 12, around the time that the wife was accused of killing her husband.
"Two months probably isn't very long for an FBI investigation, but when you're waiting for answers, that's a lifetime," a friend of the family said, adding that she is “stunned” at the murder charge and the death of Cody.
Although Graham has been found to have lied about the death of her husband in the Glacier Park murder, she has not yet been convicted. The report concludes that the FBI investigation and court processes are still underway.
