The Glazier Park murder was committed by a newlywed wife, who had told friends she didn’t think she wanted to be married. Cody Lee Johnson’s body was found at the face of a Glazier Park cliff, where his wife of eight days, Jordan Linn Graham, left him days earlier after pushing him off the cliff face-first. Today friends of the dead man are speaking up, according to the Ravalli Republic on Sept. 11.
Cameron Fredrickson, who was a groomsman in Johnson and Graham’s wedding, said he warned his friend not to marry the woman who ultimately ended his life. Fredrickson said that the interaction between Graham and Johnson was a bit cold and the two seemed distant, which isn’t what you’d expect from two people in love and about to get married.
Johnson didn’t heed the warning and he ended up dead at the bottom of a cliff, but he lay there for a few days as his wife concocted a missing person’s story. At first Graham reported her husband had gone off with friends, but the story got even more bizarre from there.
She told a friend her husband had gone hiking with friends and didn’t return. Graham went to Glazier Park and reported to a park ranger that she found her husband’s body. The ranger thought that was a bit odd, that this woman would know right were to look. Her excuse was that he always wanted to visit that area before he died.
Eventually Graham admitted to pushing her husband face-first off the cliff, but she said it was during an argument. She said he grabbed her arm as she turned to leave and she got mad, pulled her arm away from him and then pushed him with both hands in the back over the cliff.
Johnson was very much in love with Graham and he was ecstatic when she agreed to marry him. If Johnson had reservations about the marriage, he never mentioned them, but Graham on the other hand, did. She confided in a friend she was having second thoughts about marrying him.
On July 8, when Johnson failed to show up for work, Fredrickson, who worked with him, contacted his family. This is when the missing person’s report was filed. Graham continued to change stories to both Fredrickson and police causing suspicion to mount around her. She originally had said she saw her husband get into a car with Washington plates and go off with unknown friends.
Today Graham is being held on murder charges, as she has confessed to pushing Johnson. What is not known is if she really did this during a fit of anger or was this something she planned.
