We all stay home, we care for our children, we cook, we clean, we organize, we decorate, we do it all. In this daily process we either forget about ourselves (me included), we wish we were more or want to give more. I am very happy staying home and caring for my family. It is my passion and my dream, but I also feel like during those free hours in the day, the very few, I could be doing something else productive so I decided to do something about it. I joined a local MOPS group, that was for me, and began volunteering my time. Even if it's just one day per week or one day per month, it makes you feel even more whole. You can volunteer at church, a local school, a local shelter or them all. Whatever it is you can do, do it. If you have several children at home and that's not an option there are local meal deliveries for families that are sick or out of work. I know my daughter likes to pick out a few canned foods when we go to the grocery store and donate to our church's food drive. Teach them that giving is way more rewarding than receiving. In today's society so many would rather take than give. We need to start a new tradition. Give them the gift of love, giving and kindness. Even the small things are important.
