Giving back can strengthen a relationship

A couple that gives together stays together.

Being in a relationship can take a lot of work. When two people who are in a relationship have the same common goals this is a recipe that is more likely to work. If you and your significant other are the type of individuals that love to do something in order to help others here are a few opportunities that make it worth your while to give back.

You can Make a Difference with Applebee's.

In order to help raise money to fight childhood cancer Applebee's in Pinole CA has teamed up with Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation.

Starting now through August 3, 2014 when you purchase a Fresh Fruit Citronade, a glass of lemonade or a Bacardi Summer Squeeze Applebee's will donate twenty five cents per glass to the foundation. If you donate $5 you will receive a free lemonade or free kids meal on a future visit. Just think, the two of you can go out and grab a bite to eat while at the same time giving back. Applebee's has a great menu choices like 2 for $20, take 2, lunch combos and much more.

See the menu here.

They also have tasty appetizers just in case the two of you want to drop in after work and check out a sporting event on one of the flat screens in the bar area. The goal is to raise 5 million dollars. There is plenty of time to do it. Make Applebee's your place for date night.

In addition to making a difference with Applebee's you can donate schools supplies at Sleep Train.

Sleep Train Mattress Center has been helping local Foster Children for many years.

In an effort to get the children ready for the upcoming school year Sleep Train is collecting school supplies. That's right you can donate pencils, backpacks, paper, rulers, erasers, glue, notebooks and more. Just purchase your supplies and go into a local store and drop the supplies in the bins inside. It's just that easy.

If you want to take it one step further you and your significant other can involve your families, your Churches and even the people you work with in this effort. You can ask them to donate as well. Like the old saying goes, it is better to give than it is to receive.

Here are two great ways to help those in need and at the same time feeling good about your efforts.
