Cincinnati's biggest pet adoption event, My Furry Valentine, is right around the corner! Saturday, Feb. 11 is the day to find your new best friend.
Come out to the flexi USA, Inc. Distribution Center in West Chester, Ohio from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. to meet hundreds of adoptable animals from around the tri-state. In addition, numerous related adoption events are happening in different locations throughout Greater Cincinnati, bringing the total number of adoptable animals to well over 1,500! For a list of the additional adoption locations, click here.
In all, more than 50 rescue groups and shelters will be participating in the adoption drive, and animals from dogs and cats to guinea pigs and rabbits will be available.
My Furry Valentine is a milestone for the Cincinnati animal rescue community, as it will be the largest animal adoption event the area has ever seen. According to event coordinators, "nothing like this has ever been done on such a large scale in our area."
The success of this venture could not be more important, as pet overpopulation is a huge problem in Greater Cincinnati. The statistics are heartbreaking, with more than 33,000 homeless animals euthanized each year in our area.
But My Furry Valentine is an opportunity to bring that number down, while having fun at the same time. As event organizer Carolyn Evans, of PhoDographer, explains, "My Furry Valentine will feature a tremendous amount of activity including lovable and adoptable pets, music and family entertainment, prizes, education about pet care, and resources explaining the importance of adopting from shelter and rescue groups. By hosting this event, we're making it easy, fun and convenient for people to meet-and-greet adoptable pets who need and deserve loving homes."
Family entertainment will include games and face painting, as well as entertainment from Mr. Cowpie's Party Animals. Mr. Cowpie will even be bringing his rescued petting zoo animals by to join the fun.
