The MLK Collaborative Celebration Committee is moving into the New Year with high expectations of success and victory. The organization has chosen the theme for this year’s events, “Sustaining the Legacy: Still Climbing to the Mountain Top!” One of the main stay events has been the Award Reception Ceremony. Tickets are on sale now!! This year will highlight the work of leaders in the community and their contributions to making Columbia and Maury County a top-notch place to live, raise children, and to reach dreams!
The Bible gives many Scriptures about honor. Here is a pertinent one: “Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.”(Romans 13:7)
The committee will honor life time community service achievement by John Stephens and Thelma Sharp. There will be special recognition through memorials to honor and acknowledge, Willie Baker, Annie Ruth Harlan, and Pastor Steve Gray. The following is the current list:
