Most people sleep with a pillow under their heads when the go to sleep. Some use more than one pillow to elevate their heads. Then again there are those that may use an extra pillow between their knees if they have hip trouble.
Over time those bed pillows get crushed. They are constantly used on a daily basis. Everyone sleeps differently and uses a pillow in a way that is unique to each individual. One may lay on it gently while others fold it in half or scrunch it under their necks. After a while they begin to flatten no matter what they are made from.
There is a way to rescue your favorite pillow and give it some new life before thinking about purchasing a new pillow. Sleeping in comfort is how we get our rest and having a pillow that supports your head and neck properly will ensure that restful nights’ sleep.
All you have to do is take your polyester, down or feather pillows and place them in the dryer. Before closing the dryer door add about four clean tennis balls and a dryer sheet. Then set the dryer on the lowest setting and allow it to run for about 10 to 15 minutes.
You may have to find something to do on the other side of the house or outdoors while the dryer is running. This may also be a good time to run an errand since the noise from the dryer will be loud and annoying. It will also be short lived too.
Once the dryer stops your bed pillows will be a lot puffier than they were before they went into the dryer. Now only that, they will also smell good from the dryer sheet.
Place the pillow back into a clean pillow case and set it on the bed. When you hit the sack tonight you will feel a noticeable difference in how the pillow smells, feels and the support you thought was long gone is back now and ready to provide you with comfort and some more restful nights of sleep.
Rest comfortably with an old pillow that is now good as new!
