This holiday season you can make a small donation that will have a big impact. As you can see from the photo accompanying this article, not every shelter animal has the simple comfort of a bed. That is why this little cutie is shivering on a concrete floor. Small dogs with short hair have a hard time maintaining their body temperature on cold concrete. A raised bed would make a huge difference for this dog!
This photo was taken at the Pleasanton animal control facility which has a very good friend in Sue of ‘Tess K9 Rescue. Sue has a home based non-profit, which is a network of Good Samaritans with foster homes who care for over 70 dogs available for adoption on PetFinder.
Sue rescues many dogs from Pleasonton animal control, but before they are in her caring arms, they suffer the usual discomforts of being a shelter animal in a noisy, frightening, and often cold environment.
She would like to help get the dogs up off the concrete floor and has found a $15 bed that will do the trick! The beds are offered by Animal Rescue Aid. You can donate to Sue’s non-profit with her PayPal link. Page down on her website, Tess K9 Rescue, and it is on the bottom left. Just note that your $15 donation is for a bed. You will also find contact information if you want to send a check or if you have supplies for cats or dogs. Any cat supplies will go to the cats at the shelter.
The little terrier pictured above is safe and warm tonight and has a forever home all lined up. But take a look at the many dogs on Sue's website. Each time one of those dogs is adopted or fostered, a dog moves out of the Pleasonton facility and away from the concrete kennel and certain death from a needle.
