Luxury shoe designer Giuseppe Zanotti and his son Riccardo were in Houston for a charity event and trunk show at Saks 5th Avenue. The charity event, called Dress for Dinner, was created to help raise funds for the Recipe For Success Foundation. Founded in 2005 by Gracie and Bob Cavnar, Recipe for Success' mission is to create educational programs to help fight childhood obesity. Every year RFS hosts fundraising events, and one of their yearly series, Dress for Dinner, allows guests to purchase a ticket to mingle at their favorite fashion retailers and view collections by influential designers. Giuseppe's Question and Answer session during the event was led by Houston Chronicle Fashion & Beauty Editor, Joy Sewing. At the end of the session, the floor was opened up to the audience to ask Giuseppe questions.
Gospel songstress Yolanda Adams, an avid Giuseppe Zanotti shoe lover, was in the audience and won the highest bid in the auction to pick out a pair of GZ shoes with the help of Giuseppe. After the formal Q&A, Giuseppe mingled with his fans, helped them pick out shoes, and for the lucky ones who bought something, he signed their shoe boxes in a way that only a true artist can....with a hand sketched heel. In between all of this Giuseppe took photos with his fans.
