Joan Rivers' "Fashion Police" co-stars are praying that she gets better. On Tuesday, September 2, the NY Daily News reported that the comedian remains on life support five days after going into cardiac and respiratory arrest during a routine throat procedure at her doctor's office.
Joan's daughter, Melissa Rivers, released a statement stating that her mother remained on life support. Melissa also thanked people for their support and prayers, stating that she knows that her mother would be "overwhelmed" by everyone's kindness. Joan was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital last Thursday after she stopped breathing during a procedure to check her vocal cord. Melissa immediately took a cross-country flight to be by her mother's side.
Giuliana Rancic, Kelly Osbourne and George Kotsiopoulos have been showing their love and hopes for Joan through their social media accounts. George tweeted that he loves Joan and hopes to see her soon. Joan's condition caused Kelly to turn to God. She tweeted that for the first time in four years, she got down on her knees and prayed. She added that she considers Joan like her grandma and is inconsolable over her condition. As for Giuliana, she tweeted that while Joan is the strongest woman she knows, every prayer for her counts and that she loves her.
Giuliana, Kelly and George co-host "Fashion Police" on the E! network with Joan. The network just announced that the show has been put on hold for a couple of weeks. This week's taping, which was to coincide with New York Fashion Week, has been canceled. A network spokesperson said that they are waiting for Joan and Melissa to return in front of and behind the camera.
The big question likely on the minds of many "Fashion Police" fans is whether the show will go on without Joan Rivers. Are Giuliana Rancic, Kelly Osbourne and George Kotsiopoulos enough to keep the show going on their own?
