HBO renews fourth season of the much talked about comedy.

The announcement that HBO green-lit the critically acclaimed series was made during the Girls winter press tour at the Television Critics Association.

The Hollywood Reporter and Entertainment Weekly report that renewal for the Emmy nominated comedy and Golden Globe winner, created by and starring Lena Dunham, comes as a surprise.

The fourth season is expected to premiere in 2015.

Promotion for the upcoming third season includes a poster showing Hanna surrounded by her friends Marnie (Allison Williams), Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet), Jessa (Jemima Kirke), Rey (Alex Karpovsky) and on-again off-again boyfriend Adam (Adam Driver), in what looks like an all-nighter with the tagline “Happily Whatever After.”

A trailer was also released last fall following what life has been like for the girls since the Season 2 finale. The trailer features lots of advice one liners, miscommunication among friends, and a glimpse of the girl’s time outside of the city.

Season 3 of Girls premieres Sunday, Jan. 12 on HBO.
