‘Girls’ Lena Dunham wins Golden Globe for best actress in a comedy

HBO had a big night at the Golden Globes on Jan. 13, and one part of that was writer and actor Lena Dunham, who won for best actress in a comedy.

"I thought I was going to be a cooler customer than this, if I ever won, which I didn't think I would,” Dunham started off her speech, and then apologized for her shaky hands. She thanked all the other nominees, which included Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Julia-Louis Dreyfus, and Zooey Deschena, who inspired her deeply starting when she was a child.

To that thanks, Golden Globes host Tina Fey later had something to say, as she took a swig, "Congratulations Lena, I'm glad we got you through middle school. It's getting sloppy in here everybody."

As for the rest of Lena Dunham's acceptance speech, she ended by thanking her on-screen boyfriend Adam Driver, who taught her how to express her emotions.

"This award is for every woman who didn't think there was a space for her. This award has made a space for me," she ended perfectly, despite those shaky hands.

HBO's Golden Globe wins also included a number of awards for "Game Change," including best TV mini-series or movie.

"Girls" season two premiered on Jan. 13 on HBO.
