“Girls Gone Wild” not responsible for girls going wild

Girls Gone Wild, the provocative label that featured nude and partially nude women involved in racy behavior, has filed for bankruptcy. Girls Gone Wild has amassed millions of dollars in debt; most of which is owed to Casino mogul Steve Wynn.

The inaugural Girls Gone Wild film was released in 1997. In 2001, the company sold 4.5 million videos. In 2005, owner Joe Francis announced that all Mardi Gras proceeds were going to be donated to the Red Cross to aid Hurricane Katrina victims. By 2008, Francis’ net worth was believed to be in excess of 150 million.

The empire is now facing legal battles and possible long term extinction. .

Said one person familiar with the Girls Gone Wild brand:

“Oh happy day! This is a victory for morality and decency. The Bible talks about taking advantage of weak women. I wonder what Francis would do if he had a daughter featured in a video.”

Others viewed the bankruptcy as being of “little value.”

“These young ladies featured in magazines and videos are of age and have permissive will. They chose to take off their clothes; to expose their bodies on film; to be viewed in that light. We have boys and girls who are involved in sex trafficking, and they have no choice. We have sex offenders in almost every neighborhood, and are afraid to allow our kids to ride their bicycles in front of their houses. We hear horror stories about the inhumane treatment of our children; and they are without options. This stuff (Girls Gone Wild) is not even worth my time.”

There are more than 750 thousand registered sex offenders in the United States; according to 2012 data.
