The Booksellers at Laurelwood will host the Girls Gone Sci-Fi Tour in Memphis on Tuesday, March 25, at 6 p.m. This fun, high-energy group author tour celebrates female writers in the young adult sci-fi genre and promotes the character-driven speculative fiction that teens love to read. The books featured on the tour will include several subgenres of science fiction with strong feminine heroines and involved plotlines. The goal of this tour is to bring together science fiction authors from different publishing houses to highlight the collaborative nature of the young adult writing community.
Authors will include: Tamara Ireland Stone: Time between Us and Time After Time (Hyperion); Jessica Brody: Unremembered and Unforgotten (FSG/Macmilian); Jessica Khoury: Origin and Vitro (Penguin); and Lauren Miller: Parallel (Harper).
Stone wrote on her blog, “When Jessica Brody told me about her idea for Girls Gone Sci-Fi — a community of young adult authors who write the kind of science fiction that will bend your mind and steal your heart — I knew immediately that I wanted to be a part of it. Touring the country with amazing women who write sci-fi with mixed with romance? Sign me up!”
