Girls basketball prelims are set

The Eastern Maine 2013 girls high school basketball preliminary round games will be played Tuesday, February 12th.

In class A the Cony Rams (11-7) will travel to Brewer for a 6 p.m. contest with the 9-9 Witches. The winner will play number one Edward Little.

The Winslow Black Raiders defeated Gardiner 44-43 January 5th at Gardiner high school.

That is a big reason the Black Raiders were able to grab the final tourney spot in class B.

Winslow (6-12) will try to pull off another upset when they travel to Gardiner (14-4) for a prelim game.

Belfast will host Washington Academy at 6 p.m, MDI will host Caribou, Hermon will travel to Camden Hills and Old Town will host Ellsworth in class B prelim action.

The Penquis Patriots defeated Piscataquis community high school (PCHS) twice by a combined four points in the regular season.

PCHS (11-7) will travel to Penquis (8-10) in a 6 p.m. class C prelim game.

Sumner (11-7) will host Lee Academy (10-8), Stearns (6-12) will travel to Narraguagus (9-9) in the other class C prelim games.

Schenck (14-4) will host Central Aroostook (6-12) in a class D prelim game.

Hodgdon/East Grand, Fort Fairfield/Shead, Machias/Easton, Van Buren/Southern Aroostook, Deer Isle-Stonington/Jonesport-Beals, Limestone/PVHS are the other class D prelim match-ups.
