A girl with an IQ of 161 actually tests higher than Bill Gates or Albert Einstein ever did. They had IQ levels of 160, as did Stephen Hawking, according to a report from Tuesday (Feb. 12). Lauren Marbe, a 16-year-old from Essex, appears to have given her teachers quite a shock with her recent IQ test score.
Measuring a higher IQ level than Hawking is no easy achievement and it has a lot of people taking notice. It seems that Lauren has also been enrolled in prestigious high-IQ society Mensa, which means she is officially in the top one percent of the most intelligent people in the world. It's not an easy task to make it into that group and it wasn't even something that Marbe had expected.
Speaking about her achievement on the test, Marbe stated that, "I was one of the last people to get my result and everybody before me had got around the 130 mark so that was the kind of result I was expecting. My teachers knew I was quite clever because of my grades but they had always thought I was blonde and a bit ditzy."
Not only is she remarkable smart, but it seems that she is also very modest about proving she is not only one of the most intelligent people in her class, but on the entire planet. As for the test itself, an average score is around 100, so notching a mark of 161 shows just how far from the mean she really is.
Now Lauren Marbe can simply go by her new nickname as the girl with an IQ of 161.
