The Girl Scouts kick off their long-awaited annual cookie sale Friday, January 6, 2012, by celebrating the Girl Scouts' 100th anniversary, according to NBC5, in a Wednesday, January 4th report.
According to The Washington Post, the Girl Scouts begin this year of selling Girl Scout Cookies by debuting a brand new cookie to mark the 100th anniversary of Girl Scouting—Savannah Smiles, a bite-sized treat with a dusting of confectioner’s sugar and a lemony kick.
Thin Mints, Peanut Butter Patties or Somoas?
What's your favorite Girl Scout Cookies? Are they the old standby Thin Mints or Shortbread cookies with the ever-familiar Girl Scout logo imprinted on them? Or do you drool over the thought of eating a whole box of sinful Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Patties? It's not hard to put down the entire box. After all, half the box is taken up with packaging. By the time you're done, you've only eaten about 15 cookies, more or less, depending on the variety.

As usual, the Girl Scouts will be going door-to-door selling their not-so-cheap cookies, but they'll also be hitting you up at supermarkets and local stores in the Providence, Rhode Island area.
