The Disney Channel is going to be invaded by a bunch of 30-somethings this summer. When the production of “Girl Meets World” was announced, there were some pretty happy fans waiting in the wings. It is a spin-off of the very popular “Boy Meets World,” which began airing in the '90s. According to a May 2 report from E! Online, the “Girl Meets World” series premiere will air on June 27. It is set to begin directly after the new Disney Channel Original Movie “Zapped.”

“Girl Meets World” is going to bring several generations together while providing a strong family show. Television in the 90's was something many families watched together and it looks like this may bring back that trend. Several familiar faces will be coming to visit during the first season, including Shawn Hunter (Rider Strong) and William Daniels (Mr. Feeny). Fans are excited that several of their favorites will once again share the small screen together.

For months fans have been blowing up Twitter talking about “Girl Meets World.” There were rumors long before the show was announced and the Twitter search feed for the show is always buzzing. The excitement is building as the premiere date approaches. There are so many generational fans who will be watching alongside their tweens, making this show very unique.

The premiere date for “Girl Meets World” is June 27 but the second episode won't air until July 11. The show will air directly after “Zapped” and begin at roughly 9:45 p.m. CT. “Girl Meets World" will then begin airing in the regular time slot of 8 p.m. CT, Friday nights on the Disney Channel. In order to prepare for the premiere, the Disney Channel is running a four-hour mini-marathon of “Boy Meets World” episodes hosted by Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel on June 15. Looks like June is going to be a good month for “Girl Meets World” fans!
