Cory and Topanga's daughter has been cast! People.com reported on Tuesday, Jan. 29 that 11-year-old Rowan Blanchard has been cast in the upcoming comedy sitcom "Girl Meets World" as Riley Matthews. The show is a sequel to the popular 1990s sitcom "Boy Meets World," except the show is told from the point of view of 13-year-old Riley Matthews instead of a pre-teen Cory Matthews.
Blanchard had a role in the action film Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D and has made a name for herself as a singer on YouTube. Michael Jacobs, who produced the original series, is producing the new series as well and is aiming for the reboot to air on the Disney Channel.
Set in the future, Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel) are happily married and also have a 14-year-old son named Elliot. A pilot episode is expected to film within the next month and Savage has tweeted updates about the project, including a picture of him and Fishel having dinner with the caption, "having dinner with the wife!" Savage also tweeted his excitement about Blanchard's casting.
