'Girl Meets World' casts Rowan Blanchard as girl (Video)

Many fans of 90's TV are excited that a "Boy Meets World" sequel is in the works. On Jan. 28 Entertainment Weekly announces that "Girl Meets World" has cast their girl-- 11-year-old Rowan Blanchard.

Roan will be playing Cory and Topanga's daughter Riley. Production for the pilot is aimed to begin next month and Disney has all but officially signed off on creating the series. Many don't doubt that the series will be a smash hit, likely from the previous generation that grew up watching the original series. The series is slated to air in Disney's 2013-2014 line up if given the green light.

Michael Jacobs, the producer for the "Girl Meets World" pilot, says that as soon as he saw the LA based actress after a nation wide casting call he knew that she was the one because she simply had something about her that made her seem real and accessible.

The show will likely be a huge success, if not with younger kids, but their parents.
