Girl and man shot during home invasion

Aspen Hill, Md. --- A 14-year-old girl and a 55-year-old man were shot early Thursday during a suspected home invasion.

The shootings were reported in the 13000 block of Freeland Road around 12:45 a.m. Inside the home police found the girl shot in the ankle and the man shot in the chest. Both are expected to survive.

Police say the preliminary investigation by robbery detectives has revealed that just before 12:46 a.m., two suspects forced entry through a door into the home on Freeland Road.

The armed suspects demanded money from the occupants. During the interaction between the suspects and residents, police say the two occupants were shot.

The suspects are described as white men who are both between the ages of 20 and 25.

At this time, detectives say they believe there is some association between the suspects and residents.
