A 1-year-old girl was flown to a local hospital late Thursday afternoon after she fell from a second-floor window and landed on the ground in south Fulton County.

So far, police have not identified the baby and they are still trying to determine the details on exactly what happened and how the child managed to get to the window. It’s also unclear if someone saw the infant fall and immediately called for help.

Still, the 911 call came in at 5:46 p.m. that the baby had fall from the second floor of a home in the 7600 block of Bowhead Court off Old Jonesboro Road, according to Fulton County police.

The infant, who kept falling in and out of consciousness, was flown to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston, police spokesman Sgt. Scott McBride said.

Investigators said the mother and some other children were at home at the time of the incident, but it’s unclear where they were and what they were doing when the child fell out the window.

The infant’s condition was not known late Thursday, McBride said. It’s unclear if any charges will be filed in the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
