The giraffe riddle on Facebook has consumed people for the past three or four days now. With several people changing their profile pictures to pictures of giraffes, you have to wonder... why giraffes? Of all animals that have become popular this year (like the camel thanks to Geico), why would someone choose a giraffe as the icon for answered a riddle incorrectly? On Oct. 29, a Facebook group called "LMAO Cop Humor" decided to answer that question... in a rather hysterical manner.
"WARNING. The riddle asking you to change your profile picture to a giraffe is a SCAM. Giraffe perverts have sent this round so they can collect as many images of sexy giraffes as possible. Please share and warn your friends! (sic)," a post from the group read.
The giraffe riddle on Facebook obviously aren't part of some sick giraffe-loving prank -- at least not in a "sexual" way. But it is funny to consider and thousands of people have gotten a chuckle out of that. But that still doesn't answer the question: Why giraffes? Evidently it's just because they are cute. There isn't a rhyme or reason -- perhaps the person who started the whole thing has a healthy obsession with the animal. Who knows?
The bottom line is that people are over it. The viral aspect is over and people just want to forget this ever happened. Until, of course, the next viral Facebook thing to come up which could be at any moment. Will you participate?
The giraffe riddle on Facebook is: "It’s 3 a.m., the doorbell rings and you wake up. Unexpected visitors! It’s your parents and they are here for breakfast. You have strawberry jam, honey, wine, bread and cheese. What is the first thing you open?" Do you know the answer? Or have you turned into a cute giraffe for three days?
