Make your own gingerbread house at Tudor Place. There’s plenty of workshop sessions still open for multiple dates and times from December 20 to 29. If you run into conflicts trying to get your kids interested in crafts, try something they can eat. There are even some sessions for the days after Christmas when you’ll be looking to get everyone out of the house especially if tensions are building.
Participants will get to tour the historic mansion and search for clues of past holiday celebrations. Then you’ll settle down to designing your own gingerbread house that you can take home and eat. The suggested age is 5 and older.
The cost is $10 per child for members and $12 for nonmembers. Adult chaperones get in for free. Tudor Place is located at 1644 31st Street NW. To register, call 202.965.0400 extension 108. You can sign up for sessions at 10:30 am to noon or 1:30 to 3:00 pm on December 20 (Tuesday), December 21 (Wednesday), December 27 (Tuesday), December 28 (Wednesday) or December 29 (Thursday).
