Gild - 3B
Sorcery (Rare)
Exile target creature. Put a colorless artifact token named Gold onto the battlefield. It has "Sacrifice this artifact: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool."
Merchants of the Underworld trade in coins of clay. Gold serves another purpose.

While Gild costs one more to play than Hero's Demise and can't take out opposing planeswalkers it's easier to splay into multicolored decks. Even more importantly is the word "exile" on Gild, which allows it to deal with indestructible threats that other black removal spells like Murder, Ultimate Price, Go for the Throat, and Doom Blade cannot. Specifically, Gild allows you to stop the gods: Erebos, Thassa, Nylea, Purphoros, Heliod, Karametra, Xenagos, Mogis, Ephara, and Phenax.

Perhaps the most interesting part about Gild is that it creates a gold artifact token that can be sacrificed to add any one color of mana to your mana pool. You'll be able to us it to accelerate on your fifth turn and cast a spell that costs six mana or save your gold to spend on a rainy day.

How will you use Gild?
