Artie Lange is still MIA after his violent suicide attempt last weekend, but Howard Stern and Sirius XM executives have stated that Artie Lange's chair will be waiting for the troubled comedian if he chooses to return to it.
Still, Howard Stern Show fans are wondering if Stern might consider hiring temporary help to keep Artie Lange's chair warm in the meantime. On Wednesday morning's Howard Stern Show broadcast, friend of the show and regular guest Gilbert Gottfried commented on the Artie Lange drama and then loitered around the studios for the bulk of the show.
Gottfried awkwardly joked that he was glad that the Artie Lange suicide attempt gives him something to talk about:
"Whenever something like that happens, it's like hearing a new joke. You wanna be the first one to tell everybody...just anybody. Stopping people on the street," screeched Gottfried.
Gottfried also proceeded to laugh hysterically during Robin Quivers' entire news segment, which included stories about the earthquake in Haiti and David Copperfield's recent rape trial.

Gilbert joining full time would be about the only thing to save the show. Even with the great Artie, the show has become a total hampton borefest.
I disagree with myself. The show is as good as ever and I miss Artie but Howard is still the King!
....Gilbert didn't "laugh hysterically during Robin Quivers' entire news segment", it was Fred Norris playing recordings of his laugh during the reporting of tragic moments.
