On March 12, 2013, boisterous comedian Gilbert Gottfried and former “Growing Pains” star Alan Thicke will get to know each other’s spouses a little better when they participate in ABC’s “Celebrity Wife Swap.”
Gilbert, 58, told Yahoo! TV, “I think the world has been waiting for some sort of weird sexual connection between me and Alan Thicke.”
He then commented on “the Gottfried/Thicke sex tape,” a frightening prospect indeed.
The abrasive funnyman’s wife, Dara Gottfried, 43, told the New York Times her husband is a “gentle genius” and noted she knew she would “never find anyone else like him.”
To her emotional statement, Gilbert quipped, “Most people are hoping that they never find anyone like me.”
Disney Dreaming reports Dara and her husband live in a New York City apartment, while Allan Thicke’s wife, Tanya, is used to the outdoors as she and her spouse share a “sprawling ranch in Santa Barbara, Calif.”
On Tuesday night’s episode, Gilbert treats Tanya to a night out as she stands in for his wife to celebrate the couple’s wedding anniversary. Meanwhile, Dara must prepare an elaborate meal for Allan and his teenage son, Carter, even though she’s not accustomed to cooking.
"Celebrity Wife Swap" airs on ABC Tuesdays at 8 p.m.
