Gigi's Cupcakes in Norcross at The Forum is now offering gluten-free cupcakes three days a week on Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays. The cupcake chain has also added 19 new recipes for gluten-free cakes, so they can branch out from the usually chocolate and vanilla options.
According to Deena Coughlin, owner of The Forum location of Gigi's Cupcakes, "our new gluten-free cakes will be baked on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays now. We will typically offer two to three different varieties each of those days, and they will be baked in special brown wrappers to distinguish them from our conventional cakes."
Three cupcakes, Wedding Cake, Birthday Surprise, and White Hot Chocolate, will be available for online ordering via their website nationwide every Friday starting January 18. I also learned that they have a new recipe for a dairy-free cake, which is a chocolate cake with meringue frosting called Tuxedo that is available by special order only.
A quick reminder that Gigi's Cupcakes is not a dedicated gluten-free environment and they cannot guarantee their gluten-free cupcakes to be free of cross contact. They bake the gluten-free cupcakes at the beginning of the day after sanitizing the kitchen and before any other ingredients are pulled out. The gluten-free cupcakes are baked separately in a clean oven, and then they are kept on a separate slide in the case.
What flavor of gluten-free cake are you most looking forward to trying?
