If you rely on the factory setting for “average white balance” you know there are times when it works and other times when it misses. If you’ve spent any time editing photos on your computer you know just how arduous, and time-consuming task it can become.
I’d prefer to spend more time taking photos than editing them and the expodisc produced by Expoimaging is the accessory that allows me to do just that.
The ExpoDisc has been around for a number of years and has become the standard for providing photographers with a quick and almost fail-safe way to improve their photographs by ensuring the white balance is always correct. It’s a great tool and it found its way into many photographers’ bags.
Not wanting to get complacent just because theirs was the best product on the market the ExpoImaging folks have upgraded it and released the ExpoDisc 2.0 to replace their own industry-leading product.
The ExpoDisc 2.0 retains all the light measuring features that its predecessor had to establish itself as the industry leader. The filter can accurately measure neutral white balance or, with the attachable portrait filters can add subtle warmth to the photo, ideal for weddings or corporate headshots.
Not only does it measure the white balance of the light it can also provide the photographer with 18% incident exposure ensuring an appropriate exposure as long as the light conditions don’t change.
Finally it can provide the photographer with the opportunity to identify and locate where the dust particles might be on the sensor.
How did they improve upon the original? They made it even easier and more convenient to use.
The original expodisc had a screw mount but the expodisc 2.0 has a spring-loaded pinch clasp similar to any lens cap, a much better solution as the previously used screw thread could often loosen any other filters that might be sitting on the lens.
Currently only available in a 77mm lens size other sizes are going to be coming onto the market in the near future. If your lens filter size is smaller than that you can just hold it against the lens and use it that way.
The expodisc 2.0 is hand calibrated to ensure its accuracy. This attention to detail and quality is exactly why you should consider purchasing one of these. If you’re a photographer who prides yourself on the quality of your work you should take comfort from the fact that ExpoImaging is just as committed to quality as you are.
The expodisc 2.0 comes in a package that includes its own carry pouch and lanyard
Why should any photographer use the expodisc 2.0? It simple to use and it will save you a lot of time in editing photos at your computer by ensuring an accurate white balance and subsequent color representation. It also provides several other useful benefits that will improve your photographs' quality and your work flow.
The expodisc 2.0 is available in most major retailers and online through major online retailers including amazon and the manufacturers website.
