A great spa treatment to try for yourself or to give as a gift, is a body wrap. There are many different types of body wraps for all different therapeutic reasons, and one of the favorites is a chocolate clay wrap. This is often preceded by a chocolate body scrub.
Day spas and resort spas often offer dozens of different services from traditional massages like deep tissue massage to exotic massages like Hawaiian lomi lomi; from refresh facials to butt facials; and much, much more. While a dollar amount spa or massage gift card is a great choice for a gift; it can be more personal if you choose a specific service and purchase a gift certificate for a particular treatment. When you choose the treatment yourself it adds a personal touch beyond a dollar amount certificate. We are highlighting some different spa treatments to give you some ideas of what you might find around. The perfect gift may be at your local day spa. Great for birthday gifts, Christmas gifts, anniversary gifts, bridal showers, even as a gift to yourself - any occasion.
Cocoa Clay Body Wrap
A body wrap is a spa treatment that is designed to infuse your body with the therapeutic properties of the wrap product being used. Your treatment will normally begin with an exfoliation of your skin. This removes dead skin cells so your body is better able to receive the wrap’s benefits. Your exfoliation can be a dry exfoliation or, better yet, it can be from a full body scrub you receive prior to the wrap.
Once you are exfoliated the wrap is applied to the entire body from the neck down. This can include the breasts if requested (and not prohibited by draconian laws). Once you are covered with the wrap product you are physically wrapped up in layers of blankets. This allows your own body heat to active the wrap product being used. While you are wrapped you will usually receive a 10 – 15 minute scalp massage.
Next you will shower to rinse the wrap off. If you visit a day spa with an exotic shower this can be a really fun part of the treatment. After, your shower you will normally need to put lotion on. This can be done by you or your massage therapist. The lotion will normally complement the product used for the wrap. The best choice to receive a full body massage with the lotion if time allows.
In a chocolate body wrap, as is featured in the attached video, your massage therapist will apply a special mixture incorporating a dead sea mud (with more than 15 natural and unprocessed minerals) base with rose hip seeds, kaolin, and Cocoa to your entire body! He will then wrap you in several layers of sheets and blankets and give you an incredible 15 minute scalp massage while the clay dries. This treatment is high in vitamins, minerals, and essential fatty acids. It is an unsurpassed antioxidant treatment.
Combining a scrub, wrap, and massage makes a really special treat. Check out this couples version of a chocolate treatment called the Chocolate Lovers For Lovers Treatment found in the Phoenix, Arizona area. Chocolate really can be lots of fun.
