Giants needs heading into 2010

This is a tough one to figure out. The Giants have needs that mostly lie on the defense, but given the age of their offensive line OL depth may be considered the biggest weakness. We also cannot discount the lack of the 1,000 yard rusher on the 2009 version of this team.

The run defense took a big step backwards lat year. So the need for a DT to plug up the middle of the defense, or an ILB to attack the opponents running game can be listed as primary needs.

The next need on this team seemed to be help in the defensive secondary, but the signings of Antrel Rolle, and Courtney Brown will allow the Giants to focus on other needs in the first few rounds of this draft.

In 2008, the Giants had two 1,000 yard rushers, and they have had at least one every season since 2001. Last year they did not so we can call RB a primary need, but one they may be able to fill in later rounds.

While they added William Beatty in lat year’s draft, there is a very real possibility that their starting Offensive lineman could all be 30+ years old. The team and it scouts will have to take a long look at Trent Williams who should be around when the Giants make the 15th selection in the first round.
