Giant meteor flashes through Wisconsin and amazes residents. Wednesday night, a large meteor flew across the Southern Wisconsin sky during a meteor shower, and many local residents were amazed by what they saw. Although official confirmation hasn’t been received about what it was, many residents believe it to be a meteor. One resident said that it lit up the sky as though it was daytime, but the sky was a neon green color.
One resident told a local TV stations that it was "the most amazing thing I have ever seen."
"As I was parking my car and I got out of the car, I saw this big lightning falling down. I had my phone in my hand and I wanted to record it, but I was too focused and amazed by what was happening that I never got to recording it. I thought I took a few pictures, but I guess I only took one," said Valon Pajaziti from Janesville, Wisconsin.
Many residents have captured video and photos of the meteor. No one is sure where it landed, and no injuries have been reported.
The first video below is from a Deputy Sheriff’s car dash camera from Howard Co., near Waterloo, Iowa. The second video is a local TV station report with several different views of the meteor.
In November, a giant meteor flashed through the sky of Northern Utah, amazing the residents and frightening some. Meteor flashes cause many residents to call 911 and local TV stations because many people are unsure of what it is, and with the way it lights up the night sky. Wow, If I had seen that live, my first thought when the sky lit up was the the Lord was coming back. Bet it was scary at first glimpse.
Yes. The lord. Certainly nothing explainable with scientific evidence. Lol, you jokesterr
I saw it from Oregon WI (south of Madison). For me it was in the western sky, travelling north to south, fairly horizontal. Not super high in the sky but not near the horizon either. I was facing in that direction and saw the sky light up and the meteor. It sort of fizzled out for a while then flared a bit more and that was it. The dashboard video makes it look like it was still lit up close to the ground but my observation was that it flared out high up. My initial impression was that it resembled fireworks, but then I realized it must be a meteor.
