Jason Giambi was terrific for the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. In six games his batting average was .444. He also hit 2 homeruns with 4 RBI. His On Base Percentage (OBP) was .583 and his OPS was an incredible 1.417.

Now he will join the Rockies for the remainder of their season where he will be available to pinch hit and possibly play some first base if Todd Helton needs a break. He was signed by the Rockies earlier this month and has been playing for the Sky Sox until the rosters were expanded today September 1st.

Unfortunately for the Sky Sox, Giambi and Eric Young Jr. are now with the Rockies while the Sox are struggling to stay atop the Pacific North division. Currently, the Sky Sox lead Tacoma by only one game.

Luckily, Matt Murton’s bat is heating up again so anything can happen.
