Gia Allemand died after an apparent suicide attempt. The reality television star was found by her boyfriend, Ryan Anderson, and rushed to the hospital on Monday night. On Aug. 14, her PR Agency released an official statement that confirmed that Gia tried to kill herself.
"While in her residency in New Orleans on Monday night, Ms. Allemand was found by her boyfriend, NBA Basketball Player Ryan Anderson, following an apparent suicide attempt. Mr. Anderson contacted 911 and emergency medical crews were immediately dispatched to the scene. Tuesday, Ms. Allemand remained in the hospital unconscious in critical condition and on life support," the statement reads in part.
Gia Allemand killed herself by unknown means. If she had not been found by Anderson, she would have likely died in her home which is what she evidently wanted. Fans are shocked by this news because Gia was always so happy and sweet. It's hard to believe that she was suffering so deep -- and that she was depressed enough to take her own life.
"Due to a critical loss of brain and organ function, life support was withdrawn today. Ms. Allemand passed away peacefully with her mother, boyfriend, and other life-long friends by her side. As a practicing Christian, Gia did receive the sacrament of last rites," the statement continued.
Gia Allemand may have not led on to her depression but it's clear that she was suffering. This doesn't make this any better as many of her friends will feel as though they should have done something to help Gia. Unfortunately, as with many of these cases, a person who is in the right mindset to do something like this is very difficult to help. It's heartbreaking to know that Gia was hurting so bad.
