Ghostfire Blade is A powerful new Magic: The Gathering card from Wizards of the Coast's upcoming expert expansion set Khans of Tarkir. Spoiled in a tweet by, this rare artifact is an equipment that rewards artifact creatures.

Ghostfire Blade - 1
Artifact - Equipment (Rare)
Equipped creature gets +2/+2.
Equip 3
Ghostfire Blade's equip ability costs 2 less to activate if it targets colorless creature.
If you fear the dragon's fire, you are unworthy to wield it.

Ghostfire Blade's cheap casting cost of one and equip cost of one on colorless creatures makes it an aggressive card that'll quickly find a home in a plethora of decks. Most importantly is its interaction with morph creatures.

While Ghostfire Blade's usefulness in Standard will be defined by what artifact creatures or token makers we see over the next year, one doesn't need to look too far in the past to see its potential. From Mutavault to Blinkmoth Nexus and Frogmite, there's an overwhelming amount of artifact creatures in the game to pair Ghostfire Blade with.

Of course let's not forget that Ghostfire Blade can also target colored creatures for three mana. That's really not that bad for a repeatable source to transform one of your creatures into a more intimidating threat. Sure, it's no Godsend, however it'll be sure to be a bomb in limited.

How will you use Ghostfire Blade? Please let us know in the comments or via social media.
