A tourist claims that she, along with her friend, saw the ghost of a young girl walking along the main street of Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue, Que., according to a report submitted on March 12 to the ghost sighting database at

The tourist, who identified herself only as Meema, was with a friend when they both first saw the reported spectre a few years ago.

Meema estimated the otherworldly girl to be 12 or 13 years of age, and was seen wearing an old white Victorian-style dress with white stockings, white shoes and white ribbons in her hair. The ghostly apparition was walking quickly, as if in a hurry, heading towards the bridge that connects to Ile Perrot, Que.

The women than got into their car and began to drive to their destination. Along the way, just a short time after, they saw the mysterious girl again at a bus stop on the main street. "I slowed down, and felt really odd", Meema wrote in the report. "There was absolutely no way she could have made it back by any means, to be in such a position. For it had taken 60 seconds for us in the car to arrive to the spot where she was.”

However, this was not the last of Meema's encounter with the girl.

In 2013, Meema was shopping in Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue when she saw the girl again. But this time she was seen standing inside one of the local shops. The girl was reportedly standing face-to-face with another woman in the store, who was apparently oblivious to the supposed ghost that was so close to her. They were standing so close to each other that "there was no space between them", reported Meema. "All I wanted to do was to leave the store".

Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue is a small town in Quebec on the Island of Montreal, not to be confused with Montreal City.

This is not the first rumour of hauntings in the town. Some believe that the local high school is haunted, where odd noises have been heard and flashing lights have reportedly been seen.

Also said to be haunted is John Abbot College, where it is said that lights have reportedly turned on and off, and doors have unlocked, seemingly on their own.

For Meema, she is not about to 'give up the ghost' anytime soon. The young ghostly girl seen walking the streets of Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue is something she will likely not easily forget. "I do not understand what we have seen, and would like to know", she wrote.

Meema's report can be read in full here.
