The latest episode of “Ghost Mine”, which aired on October 9, found Kristen and Patrick chasing mysterious shadows into the wilderness in search of evidence of the paranormal. According to Kristen, the shadows lead them to same location every time. The paranormal team suspects there may be abandoned graves of Chinese Miners at that location.
Meanwhile, the paranormal team decided to do an EVP session in the area. Upon listening to the audio tape, they soon discovered the sound of a train whistle. This, of course, led them into Sumpter to determine if there were any trains in the area at that time.
When they discovered that the trains were all shut down for the night, they concluded the sound on the tape must be the residual imprint of the old train whistle. With further investigation, they soon learned that dead or injured miners were transported via train – which, of course led to doing a paranormal investigation of the old rail cars.
A shadow that resembled the shape of person was detected with the IR camera, which sent Patrick and Kristen into a rush to the rail car. Upon arrival, nothing was found.
As Kristen and Patrick rode the rails back to Sumpter, they began another EVP session, but were interrupted when the door to the train car opened on its own.
Meanwhile back at the mine, the miners continue to raise up the tunnel in hopes of finding the mother lode of gold. Although the miners made several comments about ‘feeling strange’ in the mine, they took a backseat to Patrick and Kristen in this episode.
In a separate segment, Jay’s son Ashton captures what he believes is a shadow figure in the background of video he took of his family at dinner at the old Elkhorn Saloon. Patrick and Kristen agree and head out to the saloon to investigate, but are unable to debunk the shadow on the video.
So far this season, while the miners work to uncover the gold, Patrick and Kristen have been busy chasing shadows that lead nowhere. Whether the miners will ever strike it rich – or Kristen and Patrick will ever uncover the source of paranormal activity at the old Crescent Mine is anyone’s guess.
