Ghost hunting tip Tuesday: Know where to find ghosts

There are many different places you can find ghosts and most of these locations are right in your own backyard. Well, maybe not your backyard, but there are several places throughout your community where I can almost guarantee ghosts are known to roam and haunt. They have been known to haunt both old and new buildings, so remember to not judge a building by its age and looks alone.

So where do you begin to look for ghosts? Let’s take a look at some of the more popular locations to find ghosts within your community.

Battlefields

Battlefields offer the highest concentration of paranormal activities. This is primarily because of the tragedies that have occurred on the battlefield. Take time to set up and hand around for some time. Trust me, you will be amazed.

Schools

Schools are a great source of psychic energy and has been known to be home to many ghosts. It does not matter if it is an elementary, middle or high school, you may find evidence of paranormal activity at one of your community schools. Even colleges are known to be home to ghosts. Take a look at Florida Atlantic University’s Humanities Building. It is home to a roaming spirit which has been seen roaming the halls in the evening hours.

Hotels

Throughout history hotels have been filled with dark and highly emotional happenings, including suicides, murders and other tragic events. Because of this many of the halls, kitchens, dining areas and guest rooms have been home to multiple paranormal occurrences. Bed and Breakfasts and smaller hotels have been known to be haunted by formers guests refusing to check out and deceased owners who still believe it is their responsibility to operate the business.

Theaters

Theaters have been known to be home to ghosts who feel a memorable connection to the location. It is also a location where emotions run high and ghosts are attracted to that.

Churches

There is a long history of churches being a source for paranormal activity. It is believed that this is because churches are the place to go for forgiveness and worshipers have a connection to the location.

Cemeteries

Though cemeteries may not be the most haunted locations, they are home to a few ghosts here and there. It is believed that cemeteries can be a portal for spirits to cross over to the other side once their bodies are laid to rest. Many locations are haunted because something memorable or tragic happened. Both of these rarely happen in cemeteries. But, I find them fascinating to explore and shoot photographs.

Historic Locations

Check with your local library to find out if there are any locations in your area that have historical significance. These areas may also be a great location to check for any ghost activity.
