The Haunted Crazy Water Hotel in Mineral Wells

What's going on at the old Crazy Water Hotel in Mineral Wells?

Built by Carr Collins in 1927 for $1 million, the hotel sits on site of the third well dug in Mineral Wells in 1881 and boasted 200 guest rooms. Many people flocked to the well to drink from it, but there was one woman who is believed to have had some sort of mental disorder who also drank from well #3. The children called her "Crazy Lady." It's said that drinking from the well cured her and brought back her sanity and the water became known as Crazy Water. It's still sold in local stores to this day and can be purchased from Famous Mineral Water.

Anyway, there sits Crazy Water Hotel silent as a mouse until renovations begin on the kitchen area. Employees started reported seeing a young girl in there. One employee reported being overcome with a cold chill, as if "something passed right through" her.

Another employee reported that a little girl's spirit frequently follows her around the kitchen and she has felt someone touch her and another employee said he's heard a little girl sobbing in the basement. When he's gone to the area to investigate, he reported feeling a cold spot. The little girl has been seen playing in the kitchen and near the elevators in the basement.

It's believed that the renovations to the kitchen may have played a part in stirring up paranormal activity that was non-existent before.

Other area's reportedly haunted are the 4th floor, elevator, and one of the resident's rooms.

Today, the Crazy Water Hotel is home to the Crazy Water Retirement Hotel.
