Syfy has chosen Hartford’s own Mark Twain House for it’s season finale of their famous paranormal reality program “Ghost Hunters”. In the episode titled “Haunted Home for the Holidays”, the famous paranormal experts from The Atlantic Paranormal Society will once again try to stir up the ghostly activity at the historic home of Mark Twain.
The house attracted the attention of the Ghost Hunters back in December of 2009 when the team observed many instances of unexplained activity. No one is exactly sure who is haunting the Twain House; some say it is Suzy, the daughter of Twain who passed away in Europe. She is thought to be simply watching over her childhood home.
Olivia, Twain’s wife is also thought to be haunting the home; she often makes her presence known in the Billiard Room. There are many of other reports of activity such as, lights flickering, sudden cold breezes, the apparition of a lady in white and disembodied voices. The episode will premiere on Syfy this Wednesday at 9PM.
There will be an episode viewing party at Woody’s Hot Dogs in downtown Hartford on Wednesday as well. The party begins at 5PM, grab a delicious hot dog and be prepared to be scared!
If you’d rather experience the paranormal activity yourself, you can always visit the Twain House for a tour during the day. It is located at 351 Farmington Avenue in Hartford. Admission is $16 for adults (17-64) and $10 for children (6-16) Seniors are $14 and parking is free. Please visit www.marktwainhouse.org for more information.
