Yahoo! Screen has debuted their latest 12-episode series “Ghost Ghirls” just in time for the fall season, reported The Hollywood Reporter today. Although “Ghost” is in the title, “Ghost Ghirls” is likely to produce more laughs than scares, and rightly so. “Ghost Ghirls” is produced by Jack Black’s Electric Dynamite and offers a hilarious spin on the paranormal genre.
“Ghost Ghirls” features two young ditzy women Heidi (Amanda Lund) and Angelica (Maria Blasucci) who try to solve paranormal mysteries, but comically so. The clueless duo doesn’t as much solve mysteries; but rather they always end up stumbling upon the resolve somehow.
Lund and Blasucci not only star in “Ghost Ghirls,” they are also executive producers of the show and conceived of it after watching paranormal reality series such as “Ghost Hunters”. Lund and Blasucci also compare “Ghost Ghirls to “Scooby Doo”, telling Tubefilter.com, ““It’s like in Scooby Doo, where often times you pull the mask of a ghost and it’s just a dude,” added Black, “but often times there’s actual supernatural situations.”
Jack Black, Colin Hanks, Dave Grohl, Val Kilmer, Jake Johnson, Molly Shannon and Jason Schwartzman are just a few of the stars who will appear in “Ghost Ghirls”. And as with other web series, all episodes of “Ghost Ghirls” (which can run anywhere from 10 to 12 minutes) are available now for your binge-watching pleasure.
