GH's James Franco receives a star on 'The Walk of Fame' and then travels to Oz

James Franco, the insanely evil Franco on General Hospital last year was given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, yesterday. He is also appearing on all of the talk shows promoting his new movie "Oz the Great and Powerful which opens this weekend.
Mr. Franco who has a varied career had decided to try soap opera's amid his movie making, authoring novels,short stories and poems and also appearing in the late "Hollywood Heights", the brainchild of his friend Jill Farren Phelps, the new Executive Producer of Young and the Restless and late of General Hospital.
James is only 34 years old but has more then one University degree and has written and directed his own movies. A veritable 'Renaissance Man', he was also nominated for an Academy Award . He does not let anything stop him and will take on any movie role or for that matter television role, he surely seems to be unstoppable. His newest spectacle is the movie 'Oz the Great and Powerful'

Mr. Franco was said to have been overwhelmed with pride as he was given his place in the world of entertainment history when he received the famous plaque in front of the 'El Capitan Theatre'.
He spoke to a crowd including his mother Betsy and brother Dave, he proudly stated: ''I wish that I could put a bunch of names on this star because this is a collaborative business... The people behind the scenes, the people who have been there for me, all the way through, if I could, I'd put all your names on there. Thank you and I'll always remember this.'' A truly humble speech by the over the top actor.

On 'Live with Kelly and Michael' this week, when asked why he took on this film, which will be compared to the much beloved 'Wizard of Oz' he told them he had been a fan of the world of Oz since he was a boy. "I read all the L Frank Baum books when I was a kid, so I was excited because I'd be able to step into that world of my childhood imagination"
Like the 1939 classic The Wizard of Oz, this film opens in black and white in Kansas, where the 'Lothario' conman Oscar (Franco) presents himself as the magician Oz. After an enraged husband chases Oscar into a hot-air balloon a tornado drops him into the colorful land of Oz, where the residents are looking for a savior wizard named Oz to save them from the witch who killed their king. Oscar must find out which witch is the wicked one? He first meets the naive Theodora (Mila Kunis), who is undecided if she'll be evil or not. Then he meets her big sister Evanora ( Rachel Weisz), who is the tough ruler, he also meets the overly good Glinda (Michelle Williams).From here we see what kind of help the con man can be. With the help of 3D the movie will bring a new look to the beloved Land of Oz.
