The Friends of Gettysburg, the membership arm of the Gettysburg Foundation, is holding its annual Spring Muster, April 19-21, for the annual Spring Muster.
The event is the organization's largest Friend-raising event of the year. Whether a novice Civil War aficionado or a seasoned veteran, the program will provide guests with a better understanding of the Battle of Gettysburg and the Civil War.
Activities begin Friday evening at 4:00 p.m. in the Members’ Lounge of the Wyndham Hotel Gettysburg. Saturday’s events begin at 7:00 a.m. in the Members’ Lounge of the Wyndham. Battlefield tours starting at 8:15 a.m. Will be led by historians and licensed battlefield guides. Guests can choose from tours such as Daniel’s North Carolina Brigade, There Is No Fail Here, We Never Expected a Battle, and many others.
After a full day of tours on Saturday, cocktails and a banquet will be held beginning at 6:15 p.m. at the Wyndham Ballroom. A silent auction and basket raffle will take place during the banquet.
Sunday, enjoy the First Corps Breakfast at 8:30 a.m. with Carol Reardon, author of several Civil War related books. Following the breakfast, join the Gettysburg Preservation Walk, a 45-minute walk on the battlefield led by Licensed Battlefield Guides. The theme this year is titled “Walking in the Footsteps of the 1913 Reunion Veterans.”
Registration Deadline is April 5, 2013. Open to members and non-members, the cost of this event is $140 members and $165 non-members.
