getTV celebrates the 4th with a double feature of Nancy Reagan movies

The classic movie channel getTV is celebrating Independence Day with a special double feature of Nancy Reagan movies. They will be airing the former first lady's movies at 7 p.m. ET. So if you didn't know that the former first lady and humanitarian was an actress, then skip the fireworks and watch two of her movies on getTV.

Though if miss the original times of these movies, getTV is airing them again that night, after the first viewing of "Crash Landing," "Hellcats of the Navy," will be airing at 10:35 ET, then after that will be the second viewing of "Crash Landing" at 12:30 a.m. ET. So there are two chances to catch both of the movies, just for those won't don't want to miss the fireworks!

Now the movies that are airing are the following;

"Hellcats of the Navy" (1957)

The first airing of this movie is 7 p.m. ET.

In "Hellcats of the Navy," Nancy played a nurse that is caught up in an ill-fated love triangle. This movie was the first and only movie where she played alongside of her husband and former president, Ronald Reagan. Arthur Franz, William Leslie, and Robert Arthur also starred with them, and Nathan H. Juran directed the movie.

"Crash Landing" (1958)

The first airing of this movie is 8:50 p.m. ET.

The second and last movie that getTV will be airing is Nancy's final movie, "Crash Landing." The movie was directed by Fred F. Sears and Gary Merrill, Irene Hervey, Roger Smith and Richard Keith starred in the movie with her. It's about passengers reflecting their lives during a tumultuous trans-Atlantic flight.

So after the daytime festivities are over and the some of the night time ones, getTV viewers can watch two movies that were starred by the former first lady, Nancy Reagan. You can check out the whole July 4th schedule here too.
