getTV celebrates Mickey Rooney with a full month tribute in September

getTV will be celebrating acting legend Mickey Rooney all month long in September. The classic movie channel will be airing these movies every Thursday at 7 p.m. ET. Not only will the station be airing those movies but on September 1, the station will be airing an eight movie marathon.

So during Thursdays in September there will be two movies being aired that Mickey Rooney starred in (they will be aired twice). Sept. 4 will be labeled as 'Nautical Musicals' with getTV airing at 7 p.m. and 10:40 p.m. ET the movie "Sound Off," and 8:50 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. the station will be airing "All Shore."

The week after that, Sept. 11 is labeled as "Crime Tales." At 7 p.m. and 10:40 p.m. the movie "He's a Cockeyed Wonder" will be airing and at 8:45 p.m. and 12:25 a.m. the movie "Drive A Crooked Road" will air. On Sept. 18, getTV will be airing his military comedies with "Everything's Ducky" at 7 p.m. and 11:10 p.m. then with "Operation Mad Ball" at 8:50 p.m. and 1 a.m.

The last week, Sept. 25, is a film block called, "Young and Older Mickey." The first movie "Blind Date" is airing at 7 p.m. and 10:45 p.m. and the second movie is "The Comic" at 8:35 p.m. and at 12:20 a.m.

So that's what will be airing all month on Thursdays. Now before that starts though getTV like stated before will be airing an eight movie marathon on the first of September. The marathon is going to start at 1 p.m. ET and the movies are going to be what will be airing on Thursdays throughout the month.

This is how the schedule will look at on Sept. 1:

  • 1 p.m. – "Blind Date"
  • 2:35 p.m. – "Sound Off"
  • 4:25 p.m. – "All Shore"
  • 6:15 p.m. – "Everything's Ducky"
  • 8:05 p.m. – "Operation Mad Ball"
  • 10:25 p.m. – "Drive A Crooked Road"
  • 12:20 a.m. – "He's A Cockeyed Wonder"
  • 2:05 a.m. – "The Comic"

So that's what the tribute is going to look at all month long in September. You can catch all the movies all month long on Thursdays, or watch them in one day on Monday. Of course you can do both, especially if you're a big fan of Rooney. It looks like it's going to be a fun month!
