Getting the facts correct about the Longmont Airport

The writer of this Longmont Examiner column has been a longtime supporter of the Longmont Airport and realizes that the needs of the airport have changed and improvements need to occur. The airport is currently undergoing a review of it's master plan.

But, the Longmont Examiner does not support people who use the media to try to scare others with misinformation about the airport or use misinformation to threaten elected officials with re-election. Recently, letters have appeared in the Times Call that have done just that.

There are many resources out there to get the real facts during the current master plan process that the airport is undergoing. Links to them be found below.

The Longmont Airport Advisory Board has been tasked with going over the master plan process and not all of the board members are pilots. They are all members of the community just like you and in addition to the primary needs of the airport, do listen to the needs of the non-flying community and take those into consideration when making decisions.
