Determined to get you hair in shape for summer? Well the first thing to do is visit a salon in the spring ! Let them rework you hair ,whether its a color, cut, trim or just a treatment. I had the opportunity to do this in at Nadia Vassell salon. You may have seen her on Dr OZ this year or her work in Essence ,Uptown and most recently on Daisy Llewylyn of "Blood,Sweet & Heels " fame . I plan to protective style this summer , which required me to have my locks assessed beforehand. Her boutique studio is located in the hip lower east side of Manhattan in a private studio.

The boutique like studio is so private I almost passed it by. But once inside you are treated to personalized service with a smile. All services are made by appointment only so you are never there longer than necessary.

First, Nadia a tall woman with a gorgeous chocolate skin tone greeted me with a big smile. We chatted about my hair goals. Which are to have healthier heat damage free hair . She suggested weekly deep conditioning treatments until my install to help restore strength and combat dryness.

After a wash , gentle blow out and curl , I was left with pretty spiral curls that were bouncy ,soft , and healthy looking. Nadia used shampoo and conditioning treatments from L'Oreal Inoacolor Care professional hair care.

Other services at NadiaVasell salon include :

Color, Keratin treatments , relaxers, Sew In Weaves, Microlink installs and so much more. Vassell also has her own line of hair called @HairFreaq available as well.

This is a place the everyday woman can get styled like the celebrity. For fab summer in the city hair contact Nadia Vassell Salon for an appointment.
